Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart will not travel on the team's upcoming two-game road trip because of what the team termed a "lower left leg" injury.
Smart appeared to bang knees with Brooklyn's Thomas Robinson trying to defend in transition with 9:26 to play in the fourth quarter of Friday's win. The team initially said Smart suffered a left knee bruise and would miss the rest of the game. Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Smart would have an MRI to further evaluate the injury.
The team said Saturday that Smart will not travel for games in Brooklyn (Sunday) and Atlanta (Tuesday).
