The NBA Finals, the biggest sporting event to hit TD Garden in two years, just got a whole lot bigger.

City officials rolled out a series of public safety measures that will go into effect during the first four games of the best-of-seven series, which kicks off at home Thursday between the Celtics and the Mavericks.

Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that Canal Street, which runs perpendicular to the Garden, will be closed to vehicles from 4 p.m. through midnight for every home game and watch party (on June 6, 9, 12, and June 14).
