Mike Gorman is being honored by the city of Boston two days before calling his final regular season Celtics game.
Mayor Michelle Wu declared April 14 “Mike Gorman Day” in Boston on Friday. The Hall of Famer and Celtics play-by-play voice will call his last regular season game on that day.
“This proclamation is a step by the City to recognize Gorman’s positive contributions, legacy and service to Boston after 43 years of calling Boston Celtics games,” per a press release.
Gorman is set to retire following the Celtics’ playoff run, which he announced last summer.
