RJ Hunter is headed back to Boston.
According to his Instagram page, Hunter has agreed to return to the Celtics on a two-way contract.
Hunter was the 28th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft for the Celtics, their second of two first round picks where they used the first on Terry Rozier. He appeared in 36 games in his rookie season, averaging 2.7 points on 36.7 percent shooting and 30.2 percent from three in just under nine minutes per game.
After bouncing back and forth from the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics waived Hunter in favor of James Young for their final roster spot in 2016-17.
