Most thought the Boston Celtics would end up trading the number three pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, possibly to either the Philadelphia 76ers or Chicago Bulls, but instead, they decided to keep the pick and make a selection that shocked some people.
With the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics selected Jaylen Brown from the University of California.
Most thought that the Celtics would select Kris Dunn from the University of Providence with the pick and then possibly swap it for a trade later on in the night, so the Celtics selecting Brown with the pick was seen as a stunner to many people, but Celtics general manager Danny Ainge loved his size, skill, physical ability and overall talent.
