In 2013, the Boston Celtics bought the 53rd pick in the NBA Draft from the Indiana Pacers in order to select Colton Iverson. The 6-10 power forward/center spent his first three collegiate seasons with Minnesota before coming an NBA-level prospect with Colorado State as a senior. He averaged 14.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game as a senior.
Boston has stashed the now 27-year-old big man overseas for the past three seasons, though. With 19 players on their current roster, and 16 owning guaranteed contracts, it’s another year where Iverson had no chance of making the roster.
