According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN the belief behind Jayson Tatum’s recent comments is that the budding star sees an opportunity to become the face of the franchise in New Orleans. He goes on further to explain that Tatum doesn’t see that same liberty with the Boston Celtics with the roster as currently constructed.
It appears the only man on the face of the earth that the Celtics would conceivably offer their 20-year-old forward for is Anthony Davis. Prior to this year’s trade deadline the Pelicans requested assurances from the Celtics that certain players would be on the table come July 1st, when the two can officially strike a deal.
