Jabari Bird, a second-year player for the Boston Celtics, was arrested and is in police custody as of Saturday morning.
According to a report released by the Boston Police Department, Bird is currently being guarded by police at a local hospital as he undergoes evaluation. The incident took place in Brighton on Friday, September 8th.
The victim was transported to a separate hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident. Complaints will be sought against Bird for, “assault and battery 209-A, strangulation, and kidnapping.”
