In a proposed 3-team megadeal that would give the Boston Celtics core a facelift, The Ringer’s Brian Barrett sent away Jaylen Brown to the Magic and Marcus Smart/Robert Williams III to the Raptors to land Pascal Siakam, Markelle Fultz, Wendell Carter Jr, and Franz Wagner. Orlando would also give its two 2023 first-round picks to Toronto.
Barrett felt that getting two potential franchise pillars in Siakam and Wagner, even if they are not at the level of Brown, makes the complicated scenario one worth exploring for the Celtics this offseason.
“From a Celtics perspective, you get another wing to replace Jaylen in Pascal Siakam, who’s a good player,” Barrett said (h/t Heavy Sports).
