Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens values the guys he made a name for himself in the coaching realm leading. That much has been made clear by many of his decisions this past offseason.
After re-acquiring Al Horford and re-signing Enes Kanter, Stevens rewarded the player he coached the longest, Marcus Smart, with a four-year deal worth $77 million. There’s still no Isaiah Thomas return yet, but fingers are crossed.
Smart’s annual salary is a major sum of money, and might not age well at the tail-end of it if Smart continues to put his body on the line as he does currently.
