The Boston Celtics have traded Tristan Thompson to the Sacramento Kings for guard Kris Dunn and big man Bruno Fernando from the Atlanta Hawks. Boston also acquired a 2023 second round pick in the trade. Atlanta acquired guard Delon Wright from Sacramento to complete the trade.
Thompson averaged 7.6 points and 8.1 rebounds in his lone season with the Celtics. Thompson signed a two-year contract for the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level exception during the 2020 offseason.
Dunn signed with the Hawks via the Room Exception last offseason. Dunn exercised a $5 million player option for the 2021-22 season.
