The Celtics won the way they want to in last night’s season opener at the Garden, and probably the way they have to.
They won with everybody, not just somebody.
Brad Stevens has made clear all preseason that he intends to use his supporting cast to support a starting cast that can certainly use it. So he did against the lowly Philadelphia 76ers.
Every night will not be like last night because every opponent won’t be as hapless as the 76ers, who are working overtime to be just that. Still, when the bench outscores the starters 67-45, you begin to understand that this is not going to be a rerun of great Celts dynasties of the past, ancient or recent.
