WALTHAM — Bobby Portis was known for playing with an angry edge at Arkansas, and even in something as innocuous as yesterday’s session with Celtics media after a pre-draft workout, it was difficult for the 6-foot-11 power forward to tone it down.
He stared hard while answering questions, holding the reporter’s gaze for a few extra seconds.
So you can imagine Portis on game nights, when he admittedly goes to a dark place for his pregame fuel.
“I always envision someone hitting my mom,” he said. “That’s something I do for myself because I want to make myself mad when I get on the court.
