SYRACUSE, NY — In the bowels of the Carrier Dome, following a 20-point loss to the Syracuse Orange, University of Miami’s head basketball coach Jim Larrañaga stood outside of his locker room with a handful of reporters. The loss marked another bump in the road for a program that lost multiple NBA talents to the draft, had one of its stars ruled ineligible by the NCAA, and struggled to recruit this past off season.
Larrañaga nonetheless lit up when asked about his son’s team, the Boston Celtics.
“I have the NBA package,” he said.
