SALT LAKE CITY — The Celtics will introduce Al Horford at a press conference this morning at their Waltham practice facility. Until now, thanks to the just-expired NBA moratorium, the organization has had to contain its joy.
“I know there were loud roars coming out of the food room when we saw that scroll across the bottom of the screen, so there were a lot of people excited about that,” Celtics assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry said of the reaction back in Waltham when news of the deal broke.
Shrewsberry, who coached the Celtics against San Antonio in last night’s final game of the Utah Summer League before the contingent moves to Las Vegas, understands what the Horford signing said to the rest of the NBA.
