He’s not 19 anymore, but Jayson Tatum is still only 26.
After pouring in 30 points during Friday’s 121-94 win over the Magic, the Celtics star matched Michael Jordan on a very exclusive list.
Tatum now has 12,908 career points before turning 27 – the exact number that Jordan had prior to his 27th birthday. That slots him tied for eighth all time on the list, with Bob McAdoo just 10 away.
After he passes McAdoo, next up is Wilt Chamberlain at 13,355. Tatum is currently 447 points away from Chamberlain, and the Celtics have 20 games scheduled before Tatum hits 27 on March 3.
