This is going to be somewhat of a make-or-break season in the career of new Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter. If he performs up to the lofty expectations that being selected #2 overall in 2011 set, the Turkish big can get his career earnings at a rate consummate of his experience.
Unfortunately, if he fails, he may have to continue to settle for pay cuts and see his opportunities dwindle. In Boston, Kanter has the opportunity to flourish as the team’s starting center. The only caveat is that at $5 million this year and an identical player option for the 2020-21 season, Kanter is being paid like a backup.
