The 1994-95 Celtics finished the regular season 35-47. Coached by Chris Ford, the squad's leading scorers were a 35-year-old Dominique Wilkins (17.8 PPG), Dino Radja (17.2 PPG) and Dee Brown (15.6 PPG). Sherman Douglas was the starting point guard, Eric Montross played center, and a passed-his-prime Xavier McDaniel came off the bench.
Despite a .427 winning percentage, Boston edged out Milwaukee (34-48) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics reward was a first-round date with Penny Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal and the 57-25 Orlando Magic.
