In tonight's edition of Celtics rumors, it looks as if no Boston Celtics player is safe from a potential trade or cut -- especially Jeff Green and maybe, just maybe, Rajon Rondo
According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, "with two more years at $9.2 million each — the second not guaranteed — left on" Jeff Green's contract, Green is "eminently available if there’s a contender who believes Green can fit in as a third or fourth guy."
Green appeared in all 82 games for the Boston Celtics during the 2013-14 NBA season, scoring 16.8 points per game despite shooting just 38.9% from the field. His heavy-shooting volume style may not fit into head coach Brad Stevens' plans going forward, perhaps making Green a likely candidate to be traded this offseason.
In regard to Rondo, Murphy believes the Celitcs would be more reticent about moving him -- unless the right deal pops up -- "So much depends on where the Celtics end up in the draft lottery, as well as whom they take on draft night. If a point guard along the lines of Dante Exum or Marcus Smart is available, much thought will be given to what Rondo can fetch in a trade."
