Boston Celtics rookie James Young will be once again sidelined due to injury for the third time during his brief NBA career.
Per Zack Cox of NESN, "tests revealed the rookie suffered some slight muscle damage in his right shoulder, Celtics coach Brad Stevens announced Friday. Young sustained the injury after colliding with Delaware 87ers forward Drew Gordon on Wednesday while playing for the Maine Red Claws."
According to Stevens, Young is likely to miss at least a "couple of weeks" as he rehabs the injury.
“The tests came back, we talked about it being subluxed. There was a little — and I don’t want to misstate it — just a little bit of muscular damage that he can rehab, hopefully, without having to have surgery,” Stevens said prior to the Celtics' matchup with the New York Knicks on Friday. “So, he’s going to be rehabbing over the next couple of weeks, then we’ll reevaluate. But it’s pretty typical of a subluxed shoulder.”
