After he was shipped to the Boston Celtics from the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the Jeff Green trade, many thought that Tayshaun Price would quickly be flipped to a contender in another trade or bought out from his current expiring contract.
As of right now, it appears a buyout may be the only feasible option.
Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, "it’s unlikely the Celtics will be able to trade veteran forward Tayshaun Prince before the trade deadline, a source said."
Prince, 34, has been battling a hip injury as of late, and per the Celtics' official Twitter account, doesn't feel optimistic about his chances of playing at the New York Knicks on Tuesday:
Tayshaun Prince (hip flexor) says "right now it's not looking good" to play tonight, but notes that he's improving so that could change.

While Prince has assumed a leadership role for the young Celtics since coming to Boston, he has been the subject of trade rumors (most notably involving the Los Angeles Clippers) since he was dealt. However, with his advancing age and current injury situation, such a move might not be in the cards over the next couple of weeks.
