The Memphis Grizzlies have emerged as a potential trade suitor for Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green, per an ESPN.com report cited by CSN New England's A. Sherrod Blakely.
The report Blakely references indicates that the Grizzlies could be players for either Green or the Miami Heat's Luol Deng.
According to Blakely, "the most likely player Boston would receive in return for Green would be Tayshaun Prince, who is in the final year of a deal that pays him $7.7 million."
However, the likely caveat is the draft-pick compensation that Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics front office will seek for the 28-year-old Green. As has been reported by several outlets before, the Celtics are seeking a first-round pick for Green's expiring contract.
Green has averaged just 13 points while shooting just 38 percent from the field and 25.6 percent from three in the past 10 games - numbers which could put a kink in the Celtics' plans to procure a first-round draft selection for his services. However, as February's trade deadline approaches and teams get more desperate to add pieces, don't be surprised if a team like the Grizzlies decides to pull the trigger on such a deal.
