Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk won't play in Friday's Rising Stars Challenge but will still attend the event, according to head coach Brad Stevens.
Olynyk will have missed Boston's last 11 games leading into the All-Star break with an ankle injury. He was selected for the World roster in the league's annual rookie/sophomore showcase - the first year of the U.S. vs. World format.
Following Wednesday night's game, Boston doesn't play until February 18. Olynyk's playing status after the break is still undetermined.
