Isaiah Thomas had played well since being acquired by the Boston Celtics, but that doesn't mean head coach Brad Stevens plans to put him in the starting lineup anytime soon.
"No,” Stevens said when asked if Thomas would become a starter. “I like the way our two guys (Smart and Avery Bradley) are starting together, and I like what (Thomas has) done off the bench. Is he capable of being a starter? Absolutely. He’s a good player. But we’ll cross that bridge if we need to.”
Thomas is averaging 20.3 points per game in three games since arriving in Boston, and has been on the court at the end of games. However, he was traded from the Phoenix Suns after expressing his desire to start, so he probably won't be happy with his decision.
