The Boston Celtics took a major step forward in their rebuilding process with a berth in the 2015 NBA Playoffs, but the time is now to put that step in the rearview and focus on the out-of-house free-agent options the team could consider this summer. Here's 3 Free Agents The Boston Celtics Could Target This Offseason.
C DeAndre Jordan
The Boston Celtics haven't had a legitimate shot-blocking threat for years, and DeAndre Jordan is the marquee disruptive defensive force on this year's free agent market. Also, could you imagine a Isaiah Thomas/DeAndre pick-and-roll? That would instantly vault Boston's offense to the next level.
SF Tobias Harris
Harris is a 6'9" two-way force who uses his length to befuddle opposing scores both big and small while absolutely filling it up on the offensive end. Tobias can shift between both forward spots as well and he'd do well helping to push the pace of Brad Stevens' offense. The Celtics might have to overpay for him to pluck him out of restricted free agency, but his potential makes him worth it.
SG/SF KJ McDaniels
McDaniels is a solid swingman scorer who thrived in Philadelphia before getting stuck on the bench in Houston. Slotting him in next to Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley would give opposing offenses fits from an effort perspective and a pure lockdown defense perspective. Keep an eye on him as a wild card this summer.
