As the Bruins continued a playoff push over the weekend, Saturday’s game carried another potentially important moment. It might very well have been the final Boston appearance for Shawn Thornton’s NHL career.
The 39-year-old, who played in Boston from 2007-2014 and was a member of the 2011 Stanley Cup winners, was greeted by Bruins fans as one of their own. Now with the Florida Panthers, Thornton was honored by the home crowd:

While Thornton wasn’t sure if the game would be his last, it remains a moment for fans to remember.
