A Bruins team desperately searching for a break to alter the course of its season may have found one Saturday afternoon against the Florida Panthers.
After a high-sticking call with 42 seconds left in overtime, the Bruins had one last gasp on the power play to try and avoid a tie. They found some much-needed good fortune when David Pastrnak sent one toward the net.
The puck ricocheted off Sam Reinhart’s stick, goalie Sergei Bobrovsky never saw it, and it made its way in with 1.2 seconds left to seal a dramatic, 4-3, road triumph.
The Bruins, who had lost six straight coming in, picked up one of their biggest victories to date against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
