After logging 10 games without a tally, Brad Marchand finally etched his name into the record books on Thursday night.
The Bruins captain became the fifth player in Bruins history to score 400 goals with the team during Boston’s road matchup against the Hurricanes, finally securing that sought-after tally just 2:12 into play at PNC Arena.
Bruins wing Morgan Geekie jumpstarted the play, hitting Marchand in stride with a pass from Boston’s blue line after his linemate slipped past Carolina’s Brent Burns and Teuvo Teravainen.
Skating in alone after crossing into Carolina’s end of the ice, Marchand went to the backhand against Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen — jamming the biscuit past the goalie while tumbling toward the end boards.
