It’s been pretty much a done deal for a couple of months now, but it’s always nice when things become official: by virtue of tonight’s win over the Florida Panthers, the Bruins clinched a spot in the NHL playoffs.
This will mark the Bruins’ third playoff appearance in a row after two straight years of DNQ’s.
The Bruins are essentially locked into a first-round match-up with the Toronto Maple Leafs, barring an epic Leafs collapse (lol) and epic surge by Montreal.
If the B’s can get a comfortable cushion on the Leafs and secure home ice with the second-place finish, it might be time to start resting guys (hello, Brandon Carlo).
