Former Bruins forward Shawn Thornton was back in Boston this weekend. Thornton was in attendance for Friday’s Red Sox-Rays game (The Red Sox won that game 7-5.). Shawn Thornton accepted a check from EchoStor Technologies on behalf of his foundation. That $12,500 check will be used to help out organizations trying to find cures for cancer and Parkinson’s disease.
Shawn Thornton spent seven seasons in Boston, forming part of the infamous Merlot Line. While Thornton spent almost his entire time in Boston as part of the fourth line, he was a lot more than that to the Bruins organization.
