The date was November 10, 2014. There was just over two minutes left in the second period and the Bruins were in a 2-2 deadlock with New Jersey. Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador fired a shot towards the net from the blue line, but it was blocked by Bruins rookie forward Seth Griffith.
The puck bounced towards center ice where Griffith instantly jumped on it and streaked down the middle of the ice into attacking zone. While trying to ward off Mareck Zidlicky, Salvador’s defense partner, the puck bounced slightly to Griffith’s left. Due to Zidlicky’s stick-work, the play led to a delayed-penalty for hooking, Griffith was spun around 180 degrees.
