Patrice Bergeron’s four goals, including a power-play hat trick, propelled the Boston Bruins to a 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings tonight at the TD Garden.
The Bruins were 60% on the man-advantage, capitalizing on three out of five opportunities. Brad Marchand also picked up the primary assists on all of Bergeron’s goals and came away with a four-point night.
Charlie McAvoy and Mike Reilly chipped in two points each.
The power play and penalty kill units both had themselves a strong night.
The weakest looks for the power play came in the first period on the second opportunity.
