Ray Bourque is apologizing for a not-so-Hall of Fame move in the eyes of striking Stop & Shop workers Monday morning.
The former Bruins defenseman was seen shopping at the Quincy-based grocery chain’s location in North Andover, despite the ongoing strike. In a widely shared video, workers outside the store called out Bourque for crossing their picket line.
“Shame on you,” one person said, noting that Bourque, as a former NHL Players Association member, used to be in a union.
The United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents 31,000 Stop & Shop workers in New England, called the strike Thursday afternoon after the two sides were unable to agree on a new contract.
