Massachusetts native and Montreal Canadiens goalie Mike Condon will get the nod between the pipes in the 2016 Bridgestone Winter Classic Friday thanks to a determination to prove the doubters wrong that started when he was deciding where to play high school hockey. Condon ended up playing for Belmont Hill in Belmont, MA and became a star as he tried to prove the school who had spurned him wrong.
“I had applied to this school, St. Sebastian’s in Needham (MA), and at that time that’s where I lived so it was convenient and they had a great hockey team,” Condon told Bruinsdaily.
