Marchand named first star of the week

Boston, MA - The NHL announced today, November 2, that Brad Marchand has been named first star of the week for the week ending on November 1. Jake Allen (St. Louis) and Taylor Hall (Edmonton) were named the second and third stars of the week, respectively.

Marchand posted six points last week (4-2=6) with a plus-three rating, including three consecutive two-point games against Arizona on October 27, Florida on October 30 and Tampa Bay on October 31. Marchand’s two goal performance against the Panthers in Sunrise included the team’s game-winner.

The 27-year-old winger is second on the Bruins in goals with five and is tied for third on the team in points with nine.
