After much speculation over the last few days, Jan Kovar has officially returned to Europe. He will play for HC Škoda Plzeu0148 of the Czech Extraliga.
Kovar signed a professional tryout offer with the Bruins back in October. The 28-year-old is a native of the Czech Republic and played for HC Plzen prior to joining the KHL in 2013.
The Bruins were hoping that Kovar could be a temporary solution for their scoring troubles. Kovar notched 10 points in 12 games for the Providence Bruins before his tryout was up. Many thought a deal had been done as during last Thursday’s game, Kovar was spotted on the ninth floor at TD Garden.
