Taking a look back at the Atlantic Division Buyers and grading how successful they were at the NHL trade deadline.

After a lengthy lead-up and weeks of speculation, NHL clubs made 32 deals on Trade Deadline Day. The number of transactions went up significantly from last season since there are tight races for playoff spots in both the Eastern and Western Conference and teams that were sellers were willing to retain or take back salary in deals to obtain draft picks and prospects. Whether these trades will impact playoff races won’t be fully realized until the end of the regular season, but it will take years to determine whether teams that moved players with expiring contracts or term remaining on deals made the right decision.
