After a long week featuring three games and five points against the Canadiens, the scorching Bruins caught a two-day rest period. They’re back at TD Garden Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Devils and a chance to extend their points streak to 17 games — one game longer than their Presidents’ Trophy-winning 2014 season.
The loss of Charlie McAvoy, who’s out for at least two weeks following a successful heart procedure, is an obstacle.
“Charlie’s doing very well…I think he’s actually been released from the hospital,” Bruce Cassidy said ahead of Tuesday’s game. “…We’ll adjust the pairs so it best suits us, but we got six guys who are real comfortable and that’s what you need to win.
