Despite refresher, fatigued Bruins hardly resting

No one in the Bruins’ organization was making excuses for their embarrassing 4-0 loss to the Islanders on Monday afternoon. The confusion over how they can play so well in certain spurts of the season, yet play so poorly against a team in the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings continues to be a head-scratcher around The Hub of Hockey.

There was one theory, though, that head coach Claude Julien threw out during his postgame press conference as his team continues their busy slate with the condensed schedule.

“This is really the first year, for me as well, going through a condensed schedule, and I’m certainly not using that as an excuse, is it fatigue?
