The Saskatchewan Roughriders were a bottom half team in the CFL last year by a lot of measures, in part thanks to a linebacker for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who theoretically didn't hear a whistle and took a cheapshot at Darian Durant (though everyone else had stopped playing). The hit knocked Durant out for the rest of the season and, without him, the Roughriders went into freefall. Seriously, they won that game and were 8-2. They finished 10-8 (and lost their playoff game afterwards). That's a 2-6 record without Durant. But he underwent surgery and should be back this year.
