-The Boston Bruins Foundation and NHL Alumni hosted the Corey C. Griffin NHL Alumni Pro-Am recently on April 25-26, raising more than $900,000 for Boston Children's Hospital.
The weekend marked the third annual NHL Alumni Pro-Am Boston, renamed this year in honor of Corey Griffin. The event had already raised more than $800,000 in previous years to support the care and research of pediatric head trauma at the Boston Children’s Hospital Pediatric Head Trauma Unit.
The unit is one of the world’s leading pediatric neuroscience centers for the research of trauma on the developing brain. Funds raised have enabled Boston Children's Hospital to launch a formal local and regional baseline testing program, expand research efforts by supporting pilot grants in all areas of brain injury research and create opportunities for new, multidisciplinary research projects to create transformative models of care.
