Were it not for two players who had just gotten off a plane, the Czech Republic might’ve been in trouble last night.

The Czechs have been suffering through some of the worst goaltending and team defense in the entire tournament, but have been able to keep competitive with an absolutely thunderous forecheck and forward corps. Now that they had the pair of Davids, they stood a chance against a team that had gone previously undefeated through the last week of games or so; Russia.

And the following game was an absolute classic from horn to horn.
