One of the Bruins’ most gifted prospects might be on the mend for some time.
Providence Bruins forward Fabian Lysell suffered an upper-body injury crashing into the boards during Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Charlotte. The 21-year-old winger appeared to lose an edge right before his collision — with the 2021 first-round pick (21st overall) eventually needing help getting off the ice.
Lysell did not play in Providence’s game against the Syracuse Crunch on Sunday, with head coach Ryan Mougenel sharing a disheartening update after that contest.
“He’s gonna miss, probably, significant time, I would imagine,” Mougenel said of Lysell, per Mark Divver of New England Hockey Journal.
