Bruins sign potential rookie backup goalie to contract extension

While most Bruins fans await any news regarding Linus Ullmark’s future in Boston, Don Sweeney and his staff shored up another area of the team’s goalie depth chart on Monday evening.

The Bruins announced that the team signed goaltender Brandon Bussi to a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2024-25 season, representing a cap hit of $775,000.

The 25-year-old netminder has established himself as Boston’s top prospect between the pipes since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2022. After a stellar collegiate career at Western Michigan, the Long Island native has continued to round out his game with the Providence Bruins.
