While the NHL trade deadline is in the rearview, the Bruins apparently weren’t done adding depth to the blue line ahead of a postseason run.
Boston general manager Don Sweeney announced Tuesday that the team signed defenseman Drew Bavaro to a one-year, entry level contract. The deal, which comes with an NHL cap hit of $867,500, will begin next season. In the meantime, Bavaro signed an ATO with the Providence Bruins.
The 23-year-old University of Notre Dame player is coming off of a successful season. Netting 10 goals, 20 points, and 38 penalty minutes in 35 games, Bavaro ranked first in goals amongst his fellow defenseman.
