Bruins sign goaltender Zane McIntyre

With a transaction that could have a ripple effect in the near future, the Bruins signed University of North Dakota goaltender Zane McIntyre to a two-year entry-level contract.

In 42 games for North Dakota this season, the 22-year-old compiled a 29-10-3 record, leading the NCAA in wins, and posted a 2.05 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. McIntyre helped lead the Sioux to the 2015 Frozen Four in Boston.

“The Bruins are very excited to have Zane as a part of our organization,” B’s general manager Don Sweeney said in a release. “He had a tremendous career at North Dakota, and while it was a difficult decision for him to leave, we all feel he is ready to start his pro development and that he will be an NHL goalie.
