The Bruins announced today that they've signed 27-year old Finnish right wing Joonas Kemppainen to a one-year, two-way $700,000 deal.
Kemppainen spent the past season with Oulun Kärpät of the SM-Liiga and had 11 goals, 21 assists in 59 games. In the playoffs, through 19 games, Kemppainen had 10 goals and 14 assists. He also played at Worlds this year, scoring three goals and six assists through eight games.
This looks like a pretty decent depth signing for the Bruins; if nothing else, the P-Bruins were one of the youngest teams in the AHL last year, in terms of professional experience, and he should definitely bring some of that to the table.
