Seth Griffith was placed on waivers today by the Toronto Maple Leafs to make room on their 23 man roster for Josh Leivo (conditioning stint) and Matt Hunwick (IR) and their eventual returns. The Bruins are in a good spot to get Griffith back and playing in Providence thanks to article 13.22 in the CBA.

The Bruins are 18th in the waiver order, so as long as one of the 12 teams behind them doesn’t also claim Griffith, they would be able to send him to the AHL. If one of those 12 teams claim Griffith, then they can use him as the injury replacement for Acciari until he is healthy, instead of Sean Kuraly.
