The Boston Bruins announced on Friday that a player had tested positive for COVID-19 during Phase 2 of the NHL’s return to play plan.
The primary focus for the Bruins at this stage is player safety and making sure they are training in a safe environment. As part of the protocol, all players and staff must pass COVID-19 tests before returning to team facilities.
During this process, the Bruins were notified that a non-disclosed asymptomatic player had tested positive for the virus. That same mystery player tested negative in two additional coronavirus tests.
For the first time in almost three months since the NHL paused its season, members of the Bruins skated at Warrior Ice Arena on Wednesday.
