Zdeno Chara fulfilled his press obligations for Bruins media day yesterday. But if you were looking for assurances that the captain will be in the lineup Thursday, when the B’s open against the Winnipeg Jets, then you’d be disappointed.
Chara, out for a week with what the team has described as an upper-body injury, will not play in tonight’s preseason finale in Washington. Beyond that, nothing’s definitive.
“I’m not even looking that far. I’m looking toward tomorrow and then we’ll re-evaluate,” said Chara. “I’m feeling better than yesterday and hoping to be better tomorrow than I was today.
